The Hope and District Chamber of Commerce is a member of the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Separate bylaws govern each of these entities and we are governed by the Boards of Trade Act. The Mission and Vision of the Hope and District Chamber of Commerce are:

  • Vision — A strong, diversified, vibrant community
  • Mission — Our mission is to sustain and promote a positive business environment for our members within the District of Hope and surrounding areas by providing support, advocacy, education and networking opportunities.

Local Chambers deal with the same issues as the national and provincial counterparts but in a more hands-on fashion. We are the collective voice that the municipal government hears, which in turn the provincial equivalents hear, all the way to the national counterparts. We provide the local business community with leadership, support, advocacy and the promotion of their business.

We are also keen to communicate with Members what the organization is up to with regular meetings, email updates, our website, and our facebook page.

About the Board & how to join

The Board consists of a set of elected members who volunteer to help govern and direct the activities of the Chamber. They are volunteer positions, and consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, plus eight other Directors.

The Hope & District Chamber of Commerce has a lot to offer. In order to achieve our goals and serve our Membership, we need to have an active board filled with individuals committed to the community. Participation in a board can change your life, and help change your community for the better. For those who would like to contribute in a hands-on manner to building a positive and effective organization, we encourage you to speak with a current Director about the role and how to put your name in the hat. Positions are up for election at the annual AGM or there may be immediate Director vacancies you may be considered for. The decision to become a Director should not be taken lightly. It is a working board, and requires time and effort from every Director. If you have an interest in joining the Chamber Board, please email
